Media and entertainment streaming services and content platforms are facing the challenge of managing large volumes of content securely while adapting to changing consumer demands. Calvin Huang, Senior Solution Architect at Huawei Cloud South Africa, suggests that media businesses should focus on the technologies that underpin their business, such as the cloud, big data, AI and machine learning. Data volumes have exploded with over 500 hours of video content being uploaded to YouTube every minute. Social media is also a major contributor to media content with Facebook, Instagram and TikTok having billions of monthly active users. Collaboration tools and cloud storage have also made it easier to share content.
