Microsoft Maps has a dedicated Maps AI team that has been leveraging Microsoft’s investments in deep learning, computer vision, and ML to create useful datasets. The latest worldwide dataset includes 1.2B building footprints and 174M building height estimates from Bing Maps imagery between 2014 and 2023. This dataset is available for download from the open-source GitHub repository and can be explored through Microsoft’s Planetary Computer.
