The Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa CCIE, discussed the importance of digital transformation for food security in Africa. He emphasized the need for right policies, innovation, financing, and investment to transform the agricultural sector and create decent employment for millions of young people. Inuwa highlighted the potential of the African food industry to reach $1 trillion by 2030 and the need to triple current levels of agricultural productivity to meet the continent’s food and nutrition security. He also discussed the untapped potential of the growing youth population in Nigeria and the need to leverage technology to increase agricultural productivity.
