Hailo, a chipmaker, is taking a novel approach to AI processing on the edge of the Internet of Things (IoT). Their latest offering, the Hailo-15, is embedded in a camera and can offload the expensive work of cloud vision analytics while conserving power. This is in contrast to Nvidia’s GPU efforts which focus on the server and data center, and are optimized for high performance and higher power consumption.
