Academic Researchers Partner With Industry To Improve Healthcare, Food Production, National Security And Reduce Greenhouse Gases

This article outlines seven Research Chairs and three Senior Research Fellowships funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering. These research projects are focused on developing new technologies for low-cost medical diagnostics, predictive Artificial Intelligence (AI) for patient care, safe deployment of medical imaging AI, and other areas of AI research. The goal of these projects is to improve the early detection of disease, reduce the burden on the healthcare system, and develop AI technologies that are both safe and ethical.
