NSERC has announced $26 million in funding for 16 new training initiatives through its CREATE program, including $1.65 million for McGill’s Sustainable Data Systems for Data Science program. This program aims to train students and postdoctoral fellows in the intersection of machine learning and sustainability sciences, with the goal of creating a carbon-neutral society. The program has several academic and industry partners and will focus on the use of “green data” in a computing and data-hungry world.
