A recent study by Penn State University has utilized advanced technology to develop a system that can accurately detect and categorize neuromuscular diseases in infants. This system uses a network of soft wireless IMUs and a miniature machine-learning algorithm to monitor infants’ motor functions and identify signs of developmental disorders. This technology has the potential to significantly improve the accuracy and efficiency of early-stage diagnosis for conditions like cerebral palsy and autism spectrum disorder.
