The PEPR Cloud programme, co-piloted by the CEA and Inria, will be launched to address the challenges of sovereignty, security, and frugality in Cloud Computing. The programme will focus on Edge Computing, which aims to maintain a continuum between Clouds and IoT devices through a geo-distributed federation of small data centres. This will allow for data to be processed closer to its use and promote the development of future IT applications. The programme also aims to take back control of the market dominated by GAFAMs and address issues of data management and responsiveness.
