This article discusses the use of computer vision in the MedTech sector, specifically in the diagnosis of skin lesions. The results of a clinical study using a smartphone-based diagnostic tool demonstrate the value of AI technology in this field. The M&C AI Report 2023 also shows an increase in the use of computer vision in European patent application publications, particularly in the MedTech sector.
