In a recent X Space discussion, Pontem’s Chief Growth Officer Alejo Pinto and Aptos Labs’ co-founder and CTO Avery Ching discussed the challenges and possibilities of a blockchain-AI crossover. Pinto highlighted the threats of fake and misleading AI-generated content, and expressed the hope that blockchain can help verify the provenance of content and keep users in control of their data. Ching agreed, but noted that existing blockchains are not yet capable of handling the quantity of content generated today. The discussion then turned to centralized and decentralized systems, with Pinto pointing out that Web3 projects are more likely to succeed if they can provide a better user experience than centralized cloud providers.
