This article explains the open source KNX IoT Stack, which was released by the KNX Association in response to the need for wireless IoT solutions in commercial building automation. The stack was implemented by Cascoda on behalf of the KNX Association and is available under an open-source license. The stack includes a porting layer to the underlying system and an application layer, allowing functional devices to be created. Currently, two operating-system ports are available: Windows and Linux, as well as two ports for Thread-based devices. The application level has an API to create functional devices.
