Huawei, a Chinese technology company, has reinvented itself into a leading cloud services provider (CSP) and is rapidly expanding around the world. Cloud is the backbone of many emerging technologies, and if China gains the upper hand in building the world’s cloud networks, information infrastructure will be built to PRC standards, resulting in users becoming significantly more reliant on PRC technology. PRC cloud providers are already operating in many countries, and Beijing is directing massive amounts of top-down support to targeted strategic industries, including cloud computing.
