Elon Musk has introduced Grok, a chatbot built with X data for X premium users. Grok is designed to be humorous, witty, and rebellious, and is capable of answering almost any question. Grok is currently a text-only chatbot, but speech and image recognition capabilities are in the works. Grok is based on the large language model Grok-1, which was built in the last four months using a training and inference stack developed by xAI. Grok-1 has achieved a performance close to LLaMA 2 (70B) on standard language model benchmarks, but with half the training resources. Further improvements have been made in the last two months in the areas of logic and programming.
