The Kenyan government is taking advantage of the digital economy to improve service delivery and create jobs, according to ICT CS Eliud Owalo. The government is rolling out 100,000 km of fibre optic cable, digitising government records, digitalising government services, setting up two world-class data centres, lowering the cost of calls and data bundles, rolling out 25,000 public WiFi hotspots, setting up 1,450 digital village digital hubs, equipping the youth with digital skills, and sensitising everyone on the digital revolution.
