RUSH and Downer’s Transport & Infrastructure business have been awarded funding to develop an AI technology that will act as a Guardian Angel for road crews around New Zealand and abroad. The project uses computer vision machine learning to monitor roadworks projects and alert workers to make real-time adjustments via alerts, predictive analytics and auto-risk assessments. The project aims to keep road workers and road users safe at roadworks sites, with the goal of reducing the number of fatalities and injuries at temporary traffic management sites.
