Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been rapidly advancing in the last three decades, with the help of big companies like Google, IBM, Amazon, Facebook and Netflix. Sophia, a humanoid robot developed by Hanson Robotics, is celebrated as the world’s first robot citizen and the first robot Innovation Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme. AI can process huge data sets which man cannot process at the speed and accuracy it does, and it can find out patterns using data. AI can also accelerate the path towards the UN SDGs with the help of AI global solutions. The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) organises the “AI for Good” Summit to bring in multiple stakeholders to enhance collaboration efforts and equitable access to AI technologies.
