INTERPOL is building an advanced analytics platform, INSIGHT, to give police around the world predictive analytics capabilities. The platform will include visual, video, audio recognition, facial and bio-data matching. The U.S. State Department has contributed $12 million to the project, but INTERPOL Secretary General Jürgen Stock estimates that tens of millions of euros will be needed to sustain the data analysis and biometrics capabilities. INTERPOL is also making progress on the use of its I-CORE biometric search program and a mobile app to match biometric samples against INTERPOL databases.
