A study published in The Lancet Regional Health – Southeast Asia journal has revealed that an AI-based technique has managed to detect gallbladder cancer at a similar level of accuracy as radiologists at a Chandigarh hospital. Research teams at Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), New Delhi, worked to develop a deep learning (DL) model for GBC detection using abdominal ultrasound. Additionally, Indian IT giant Infosys could reportedly partner with chipmaker Nvidia to provide skill training to its employees. Cred CEO Kunal Shah has also warned that around 90 percent of workers could lose their jobs to AI in the next decade.
