The State Department’s Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR) is undertaking a digital transformation initiative to move its top secret network to the cloud. This initiative is part of the agency’s strategic plan and will help to improve efficiency, agility, and security. Jimmy Hall Jr., the State INR Bureau’s chief information officer and director of the Technology and Innovation Office, is leading the initiative and is looking to take advantage of cloud computing to address technical debt, improve cybersecurity, and use artificial intelligence, machine learning, and other technologies.
