The healthcare sector is on the brink of a technological revolution, with recent advances in AI and robotics redefining the sector’s future and promising to elevate the quality of patient care and outcomes. In the Gulf region, robots have been used to assist surgeries since the 1980s, and have now transcended their primary role to become integral in clinical environments, aiding healthcare professionals and augmenting patient care. During the Covid-19 outbreak, robots were used to disinfect areas with a high level of virus exposure and to perform a plethora of tasks to minimise human exposure to the virus.
