In a new study, researchers used artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to identify markers of Parkinson’s disease in eye scans, up to seven years before a clinical diagnosis. The study, published in Neurology, was conducted using the AlzEye dataset and the UK Biobank database. The results of the study showcase a further development in the field of oculomics, which is the use of data from eye scans to reveal signs of illnesses and conditions.
