Netskope has pioneered ML-enabled image classification to solve modern DLP challenges. Traditional data protection technology approaches struggle to keep up with the rapidly growing volume, variety and velocity of data. To detect and protect data, most DLP solutions rely on textual data analysis, such as regular character patterns and content matching techniques. To ensure reliability, DLP must also be equipped with data fingerprinting engines and ML- and AI-based automated techniques. OCR is used to extract text from unstructured data sources like images, but this is not always reliable.
