Thoughtspot Buying Mode For $200m To Add Deeper Analysis

ThoughtSpot, a vendor that enables business users to work with data on an AI-powered platform, has acquired Mode, a code-first platform that enables customers to use languages such as SQL, the R programming language and Python to build models and other data assets. This acquisition will add complementary capabilities to each’s existing users, allowing ThoughtSpot to make the output of the data science process easier for business analysts to access. David Menninger, an analyst at Ventana Research, noted that the differences between the two platforms make them potentially synergistic.
