Virginia Tech Researchers Aim To Hold And Feed Ai Cakes

Virginia Tech recently released an article that examines the environmental costs of AI technology. It was found that training AI models can consume a large amount of energy, equivalent to what three average US homes use in a year. To reduce the carbon footprint of AI, Virginia Tech is working with Amazon on a concept called Green Federated Learning (Green FL) to explore the development of more energy-efficient ways for AI.
