Inside Amtce: Ireland’s ‘internationally Recognised’ Centre Of Excellence For Advanced Manufacturing

Martin O’Brien, founder of the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre of Excellence (AMTCE), has ambitious plans to provide higher quality, flexible, sector-specialised further education and training programmes to the manufacturing sector. Located in Dundalk, Co Louth, the training centre falls under the auspices of the Louth Meath Education and Training Board (LMETB). O’Brien has signed partnership deals with organisations in the US and Germany, and has identified the Irish Manufacturing Research Centre (IMR) as a key strategic alliance. The manufacturing industry is becoming more and more technical, with advanced manufacturing and industry 4.0/5.0 solutions being explored and implemented by manufacturers across Ireland.
