Google is opening up access to its massive 540 billion parameter PaLM (Pathways Language Model) foundation AI model to developers and launching a suite of new features to its own applications. The company is also introducing the technology to Vertex AI, a machine learning platform created by Google for data science, and adding PaLM to its Docs and Gmail applications. These changes will allow users to generate content from a simple prompt and make it easier for data scientists to take advantage of foundation models, addressing content generation and chat summarisation use-cases with enterprise-level capabilities.
