Researchers at the Massachusetts General Hospital have developed a deep learning technique that can detect the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease with an accuracy of 90.2%. The technique is based on high-quality brain magnetic resonance images (MRIs) and is able to detect early-onset cases of the disease. The study’s co-author Matthew Leming said that the deep learning model was made “blind” to features of the brain that are overly associated with the patient’s age.
