Figure, a robotics startup, has unveiled plans for the world’s first commercially viable general purpose humanoid robot called Figure 01. The robot is designed to think, learn, and interact with its environment, and is intended to address labor shortages and eventually eliminate the need for unsafe and undesirable jobs. The team behind Figure is made up of robotics veterans from IHMC, Boston Dynamics, and Tesla.
